Who We Are

John Brooke is the owner of Waring Waste Ltd with his daughter and director Emma Wheatcroft working by his side as an integral person within the company.

What makes Waring Waste so different to other companies is that we take a waste product and everything from that product is used. We have an on sit biomass plant that provides 10,000 homes in Nottingham with electricity.

Waring Waste was established in 2008 and is a family run business, with over 40 years’ experience in the sawmill and treatment plant industry. Waring Waste was granted permission to install a bio mas plant on site in order to burn low-grade wood material and convert it into electricity.

A machine was purpose built to remove all ferrous and non-ferrous materials from the wood. The initial wood waste material is loaded into a slow speed shredder before being fed into a Hammel high speed shredder.  The shredded material moves, via a conveyor into a 3 way screener, separating oversized wood from screened wood chip.  The remaining material is then moved onto the vibratory pan feed. The material then moves over a magnetic drum (separating ferrous metal) it then moves via an accelerator belt, onto the eddy current to remove all non-ferrous metals.  The high quality metal free wood whip in then used in the in house boiler and converted into electricity.
